The music that we hope to study and perform at the end of the day includes works by Aaron
Copland, William Billings, Amy Beach, Morten Lauridsen “O magnum mysterium” and Eric
Whitacre “Sleep”. This is a great opportunity to work with one of today’s most dynamic and
exciting young conductors on repertoire from the first American choral composer (Billings 1746-
1800), America’s first successful female composer (Beach 1867-1944)), the “Dean of
American Music” (Copland 1900-1990) through to Lauridsen and Whitacre, whose works are familiar to today’s choral singers. More information can be found here.
